FORT MYERS — Bell Tower Shops, undergoing a significant renovation, announced that entertainment center Dave & Buster’s will be one of the new tenants — and replace the vacant Saks Fifth Avenue.
The old Saks space, the north anchor spot, is about 40,000 square feet. A tenant at Bell Tower since 1996, Saks closed its store there in October 2016. Construction will begin on the Dave & Busters in June with a grand opening anticipated for early 2019, according to a statement.
“Dave & Buster’s will be a great addition as Bell Tower Shops continues to evolve into an 18-hour-a-day destination for shopping, dining and entertainment,” says Whitney Livingston, senior vice president at Madison Marquette, which co-owns the 343,000-square-foot center in a partnership with insurance giant Principal. “Dave & Buster’s appeals to a wide audience, from children and families to young professionals and sports fans looking for a unique environment to have dinner and drinks.”
Bell Tower Shops, built in 1982, recently began construction on a comprehensive redevelopment to create a more modern destination. That includes new common areas, updated architecture and redesigned storefronts, fresh paint and contemporary lighting.
Dave & Buster’s operates 112 restaurant/entertainment complexes throughout North America, including six locations in Florida in Brandon, Hollywood, Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando and Panama City Beach. The Brandon one opened in 2017.
