County, Airbnb sign bed tax deal

Charlotte County is the 40th county in Florida to reach a bed tax agreement with the online hospitality firm.

CHARLOTTE COUNTY — Charlotte County has become the latest, and the 40th county in Florida, to reach a bed tax agreement with online hospitality firm Airbnb.

The agreement will allow Airbnb to collect and remit bed taxes on behalf of its local hosts, according to a statement. The agreement is effective May 1.
