The Stephan Co. launches Imagen hair-care products for Latina market
Tampa-based hair care, skincare and personal care manufacturer/distributor The Stephan Co. has released Imagen, a new hair-care line designed specifically for Latinas.

“We've done our homework and are confident that Imagen achieves on all fronts — from formulation, to packaging to how the brand will engage Latina consumers,” The Stephan Co.'s Vice President of Sales Paul Crouch says in a press release.

The Imagen Salon Formula will launch this month in Target.

Syniverse paying $290 million to buy California data-network services firm
Syniverse has signed a definitive agreement to acquire San Jose, Calif.-based Aicent. The Tampa-based company says the purchase is expected to expand Syniverse's communications network, increase its services and extend the company's access to mobile subscribers, businesses and mobile operators in Asia. Aicent is being acquired for $290 million in cash.

“The proposed acquisition is an important, strategic move for Syniverse, which we expect will give us the added reach to deliver the future potential of LTE in today's expanding mobile ecosystem,” Jeff Gordon, president and CEO, Syniverse. “Not only do we increase our reach as LTE leaders while adding a robust, complementary product portfolio, but we also gain employees who bring strong relationships, experience and substantial tenure across the mobile and telecommunications services markets

Aicent President and CEO Marc Zionts said the acquisition is a good fit that will positively benefit end users and the mobile ecosystem worldwide.

Founded in 2000, Aicent is the world's largest multi-service Internetwork Packet Exchange (IPX) provider of data network services connecting to more than 200 global mobile operators, including the world's 10 largest.

Carlton Fields Jorden Burt attorney receives Paul S. Buchman Award
Kenneth Tinkler, a Tampa shareholder of Carlton Fields Jorden Burt has received the Paul S. Buchman Award from the City, County and Local Government Law Section of The Florida Bar.

This annual award recognizes Tinkler's outstanding contribution in the area of Legal Public Service. Tinkler also was recognized for his service to the bar's section and its executive council.

The Paul S. Buchman Award is named after longtime Plant City attorney Paul S. Buchman, who served as Plant City's city attorney for 42 years, until his death in 1991.

Hertz Dayim Equipment Rental opens new location in Saudi Arabia
The Hertz Corp. of Naples has announced that Hertz Dayim Equipment Rental has expanded in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the opening of a new equipment location in the country's capital Riyadh. The new location will serve the Central Province's infrastructure, commercial, government, military, construction, event services and industrial sectors. The company is now a registered vendor with multiple contractors of the giant Riyadh Metro 85 station public transport construction project.

Similar to the company's Dammam and Jeddah locations, the Riyadh operation rents and sells equipment and tools as well as provides fleet management services. Hertz-Dayim's portfolio includes equipment for earth moving, aerial, material handling, power, electrical and compressor requirements.

“Hertz Dayim Equipment Rental, the joint venture of Hertz Equipment Rental and Dayim Systems, is continuing its rapid growth across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” Lois Boyd, president of Hertz Equipment Rental Corp. says in a press release. “The Central Province is considered a strong market opportunity due to massive spending on large-scale urban infrastructure projects. This includes the Riyadh Metro project as well as multibillion dollar initiatives for the financial district, medical cities, commercial centres and highways and bridges.”

Cunningham Lindsey hires CEO, names former Lloyd's of London head as chairman
The Board of Directors of Tampa's Cunningham Lindsey Group has announced plans to appoint Dr. Richard Ward as the executive chairman of the board and Jane Tutoki as CEO. The changes will be effective June 9.

The appointment of Tutoki is part of a planned succession. The company's current President and CEO Philippe Bes will stay on as president through Aug. 31. Bes will then retire, but he will continue to serve as a senior adviser to the company.

Tutoki joins Cunningham Lindsey from AIG Property and Casualty, where she served as the global head of claims operations since 2012. Previously, she worked as both head of the Americas region and executive director of global insurance for Xchanging plc. Tutoki also held a number of senior positions at Zurich Financial Services from 2002 to 2010, including global chief claims officer and chief claims officer, North America commercial division.

Ward previously served as CEO of the prominent specialty insurer Lloyd's of London from 2006 to 2013. Prior to that he served as CEO and chairman at the International Petroleum Exchange, which was rebranded as ICE Futures, and held various senior positions at BP. He currently serves as chairman of Brit plc and as a non-executive director of Partnership Assurance Group plc.

Stonehenge Growth Equity Partners invests in Boca Raton's MobileHelp
Tampa-based Stonehenge Growth Equity Partners announced it has invested in Boca Raton-based mobile medical alert system company MobileHelp.

“In addition to their innovative technology, MobileHelp has demonstrated a history of solid growth and a scalable recurring revenue business mode,” Steven Lux, managing partner of Stonehenge Growth Equity Partners, says in a press release.

Lux says MobileHelp is a perfect example of what the firm looks for in a company - both characteristically and geographically. Stonehenge Growth Equity Partners focuses on technology-enabled growth-stage companies, including often those companies that combine health care and information technology, primarily in Florida and the Southeast.

Aurora Diagnostics partners with NeoGenomics
Fort Myers-based NeoGenomics Inc. has been selected by Aurora Diagnostics to be its primary partner for molecular testing at each of Aurora's 19 specialized anatomic pathology laboratories in the United States.

Aurora Diagnostics is a specialized laboratory company focused on anatomic pathology and employing more than 110 physicians.
