$3M hotel renovation complete in Lakewood Ranch

Hyatt Place Lakewood Ranch has completed a $3 million renovation that spans the property. The updates include all 122 guest rooms, the lobby and public spaces, meeting room, fitness center and pool area.

Michigan-based Lodgco Hospitality owns and operates Hyatt Place Lakewood Ranch. The firm has 21 hotels in Florida, Michigan, North Carolina and Colorado in its portfolio. 

“The $3 million renovation at Hyatt Place Sarasota/Lakewood Ranch is a significant investment in this hotel and in the growing Lakewood Ranch community,” Lodgco President Scott Stuart says in a statement. “We believe in investing in our hotels in ways that create a better experience for our guests, strengthen our teams and position the property for long-term success.”

Renovations began in May and continued through the end of August.

Both the hotel rooms and public spaces received new wall vinyl and flooring. Guest rooms were refreshed with new mattresses, TVs, artwork, lighting, seating and window treatments, Lodgco Director of Capital and Facilities Pam Hagen says in an email to the Business Observer. New paint and soft seating were also added to the lounge, bar and dining areas. Outside, new pool and terrace furniture were introduced in the swimming pool area.

“Overall, the renovation brings an updated, more contemporary look throughout the hotel and provides a fresh and comfortable experience for guests,” Hagen says in an email.

The hotel, at 6021 Exchange Way, opened in 2017. It is designed to appeal to leisure and business travelers.

“We are looking forward to opening our doors and giving our community partners a firsthand look at the transformation,” Hyatt Place General Manager Serena Rouleau says in the statement.

Lodgco currently owns five other hotels in the Sarasota-Manatee area, according to Lodgco Vice President of Sales and Commercial Strategy Callie Cain: Hyatt Place Sarasota Airport, Home2 Suites Nokomis Casey Key, Hampton Inn & Suites North Port, and the newly rebranded Coral Pointe Sarasota and Caretta Landing Sarasota. The latter two hotels, previously known as Ameniti Bay and Magnolia Pointe, recently completed a nearly $2 million rebranding project.
