Construction crews have started working on the site of the 84-unit Timbers Captiva Club & Residences to be built on the South Seas resort’s Captiva Island property.
According to a spokesperson, there is no groundbreaking date yet, but work is being done to clear and ready the site for utilities.
Timbers Captiva will be built on a beachfront stretch of the property directly between the new Beach House restaurant and South Seas’ The Clutch golf course, and across from the marina on the property.
The company said in June that it will sit on 12 acres and more than 1,000 feet of shoreline.
Timber Captiva, when completed, will be made up of three- and four-bedroom residences ranging from 2,286 square feet to 3,693 square feet. Amenities will include gourmet kitchens with Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances, natural stone countertops, 11-foot ceilings and “spa-inspired” bathrooms with deep soaking tubs.
Owner will also have access to South Seas’ Ocean Club.
Timbers will offer the units for fractional or whole ownership, with the price for a fractional ownership starting at $850,000 and for whole ownership pricing starting at $4.93 million.
South Seas was purchased in 2021 by Timbers Co., The Ronto Group and Wheelock Street Capital for $125 million. The 330-acre resort is on the northern tip of Captiva Island.
