Amazon has bought 232.73 acres just off of Interstate 75 in Charlotte County. The Punta Gorda property on Jones Loop Road sold for $20.14 million.
What is not immediately clear is exactly what the online retail giant intends to do with it.
A company spokesperson did not respond to request for comment Tuesday. And Justin Thibaut, whose commercial real estate firm LSI Cos. brokered the deal, says in an email that he can’t comment.
“We are under a strict NDA so no details can be provided,” he writes referring to a non-disclosure agreement.
If previous projects can be seen as an example, in late 2024 Amazon bought 143 acres in Fort Myers where it is building a 650,000-square-foot robotics fulfillment center.
The properties that were sold are at 27805, 28005, 28105, 28205 Jones Loop Road. All but one of the properties was owned by a Fort Myers LLC named Reeseretland Sheffer.
According to the state’s Division of Corporation database, the LLC is co-managed by Randy Thibaut, the former president of LSI who brokered the sale along with his son Justin. The LLC's address is listed as 8000 Summerlin Lakes Drive Suite 100. LSI’s address is in suite 200.
That 66.8-acre parcel at 28205 Jones Loop Road property was owned by Iowa based Advance Homes Inc.
Justin and Randy Thibaut brokered the sale.
