A Southwest Florida luxury real estate firm has acquired a Punta Gorda brokerage. John R. Wood Christie’s International Real Estate, which is headquartered in Naples, closed the deal with Walker Realty Group on Feb. 27, the company says in a March 11 statement. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Leanne Walker, who founded Walker Realty Group, will remain with the firm, along with 10 other agents, the statement says. Veteran Charlotte County broker Roger Morris will lead the Punta Gorda office at 110 Sullivan St.
"By building on Walker Realty Group’s existing office and local relationships, we’re creating a strong foundation to serve buyers and sellers throughout the Punta Gorda market," Morris says in a statement. "This marks an important step as we establish John R. Wood Christie’s International Real Estate’s presence in Charlotte County."
John R. Wood Christie’s International Real Estate has 20 offices in Lee and Collier counties and employs 900 agents and staff. The acquisition to move into Charlotte County aligns with its goal to expand strategically in key Southwest Florida markets.
Founded in 1958, the multibillion-dollar company John R. Wood Properties joined the Christie’s International Real Estate Network in 2022 and remains 100% owned by the founding Wood family, including CEO Phil Wood, President Corey McCloskey and Vice President of Compliance Nikki Wood, according to a statement.
John R. Wood Christie’s International Real Estate closed $4.1 billion in sales in 2025.
"Walker Realty Group has established a strong presence in Punta Gorda," McCloskey says in the statement. "This acquisition strengthens our reach in Charlotte County and supports our continued growth across Southwest Florida."
