“We’ve always had a really strong connection to the communities we serve,” said Mya Giles, Director of Marketing for the locally owned Tommy’s Express locations. With a background in the nonprofit sector, Giles has helped deepen the company’s local outreach and expand its community partnerships.
That commitment is reflected in collaborations with organizations such as Suncoast Charities for Children, including support through Thunder by the Bay and dedicated Giveback Days. During these events, Tommy’s Express donates 50% of the day’s profits directly to a selected nonprofit. Over the past three years, the company has contributed more than $50,000 to local nonprofits, schools and community organizations through sponsorships, direct donations and Giveback Day initiatives.
Tommy’s Express believes meaningful impact starts from within. Team members are regularly asked which causes matter most to them, and leadership actively pursues opportunities to support those organizations. At one grand opening, a local humane society was featured during a weekend adopt-a-thon; and one happy pup found a forever home with the location’s general manager.
While community involvement is central to its mission, Tommy’s Express is equally focused on delivering a high-quality wash experience. Its conveyor-belt system safely accommodates everything from low-riding vehicles to dually trucks, without risk of wheel or rim damage. All soaps and cleaning products are rigorously tested by chemists at the company’s corporate headquarters to ensure they are both safe and effective.
Florida’s climate can be especially tough on vehicles, particularly during love bug and pollen season. Tommy Guard offers added protection against sun, rain and environmental wear, helping preserve a vehicle’s finish year-round.
“With our unlimited plans, you can wash your car as many times a day as you’d like,” Giles said. “I take my car about three times a week.”
Customers can pay per visit or choose a membership with four wash tiers designed to fit different needs and budgets. New members receive their first month free at the Works level. Every visit, member or not, includes complimentary access to vacuums and towels.
Open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tommy’s Express offers Sarasota drivers more than a convenient car wash. It offers the opportunity to support a business committed to keeping both cars, and the local community, looking their very best.
