The father-son team behind a popular Tampa seafood restaurant is readying to open a new, Greek-style concept in Sparkman Wharf.

Strategic Property Partners announced Tuesday that Ziki’s Greek Street Food is planning to open a new restaurant in Sparkman Wharf’s Container Dining Garden — a row of brightly painted, repurposed shipping containers housing a mix of local food concepts. Ziki’s Greek Street Food will be located between Fit Bowl Co. and Dang Dude, according to a release.

Created by the father-and-son team behind Sparkman Wharf’s Half Moon Seafood Company, Ziki’s Greek Street Food will serve fresh, made-from-scratch Greek favorites using traditional and authentically-sourced ingredients and recipes. The menu features favorites such as the classic gyro, greek salads, loaded greek fries and Loukoumades, or Greek honey donuts.

"Our goal is for Ziki’s to bring the authentic Greek street food that we love to the downtown Tampa community,” says Tyler Cate, co-owner of Ziki’s Greek Street Food, in the release. “The idea really came from traveling and just loving fresh, traditional street food. Everything’s better wrapped in a warm pita with a side of ‘ziki’ - trust us.”

Ziki's joins several recent additions at Sparkman Wharf, including Engrained Lifestyle Apparel, burger stand Smith's Provisions and The Back Bar, a full-service cocktail and wine bar.

“Sparkman Wharf has become a dynamic food destination that offers a mix of concepts,” says AJ Velasquez, vice president of asset management for Strategic Property Partners, in the release. “From burgers to tacos, seafood to gyros, there is something for everyone to enjoy.”
