Tampa Bay’s latest luxury condo tower will celebrate its grand opening Wednesday, bringing waterfront, resort-style residences to Tampa’s Westshore Yacht Club.
The Aqua Residences at Westshore Yacht Club, at 5605 S. Westshore Blvd., offers 77 units in its 17-story tower, with condos starting at $1.65 million. The project developer is Westshore Group LLC, which is led by Miami real estate developer Eddie Avila and sales are managed by Smith & Associates Real Estate. Westshore Group has not disclosed how many of the condos have been presold.
General contractor Coastal Construction first broke ground on Aqua in May 2024, according to the condominium’s website, filling in the only remaining parcel of the Westshore Yacht Club. Residents have access to the full-service, 175 slip deepwater marina with their private Bay Club membership. That includes access to the club’s restaurants, tiki bar, spa, fitness center and private pool.
All residences in Aqua were designed to face west to maximize sunset views, according to Smith & Associates, and the condominium’s interior was designed by Miami-based luxury designer Adriana Hoyos to look and feel as if residents were living in a high-end resort.
“Tampa is a secret gem,” Hoyos says in a release from Aqua. “After working internationally, this is my first project in Tampa Bay and I can see why people fall in love with this area. Residents will find the kind of natural beauty, understated elegance and casual lifestyle that lovers of coastal living are craving.”
The condos inside Aqua are a mix of two-bedroom to four-bedroom floor plans ranging in size from 2,344 square feet to 2,666 square feet. The penthouse condominium has four bedrooms and is 4,993 square feet. Every residence has access to an outdoor terrace along with chef-inspired kitchens and direct elevator access to private foyers for added privacy and security, the release says.
Amenities include a rooftop pool, private spa, fitness center outfitted with equipment from @TechnoGym, a theater room, children’s playroom, private dining room, golf simulator, pickleball court and concierge services.
“At AQUA, I want people to feel like they are living in a five-star hotel,” Hoyos says in the release. “There is an abundance of natural light and we are creating a strong sense of place in a sophisticated way. Even the furniture we have selected for the pools are carefully curated and very high end.”
Bob Hall of CGHJ is the architect on the project. The interior design team is IDDI and the landscape architect is Booth Design Group.
Coastal Construction was founded by CEO Thomas Murphy Jr. in 1989 and has since built more than 15,000 residences and 5,000 hotel rooms in 60 hotels. Other Tampa projects include the Ritz-Carlton Residences Tampa, Pendry Tampa and several Water Street Tampa buildings.
