The Delray Beach developer behind a score of local projects has bought land in Brandon and is building apartments on it.

Kolter Urban’s latest purchase is of 17.03 acres at 2408 Graves Road, north of Brandon Boulevard and near Interstate 75. According to a spokesperson, the developer paid $2.8 million for property.

Kolter has already begun building a 280-unit apartment community on the site to be named Alton Brandon. It will be made up of five residential buildings and a central clubhouse.

Residents are expected to begin moving in late next year.

Kolter has been active in the region in recent years, with projects stretching from Naples, where it has an office, north to Tampa Bay.

Earlier this year the company’s Senior Vice President Ed Jahn told the Business Observer that it has more than $3.2 billion invested in developments on the Gulf Coast.
