The Clearwater Beach waterfront home that once belonged to legendary wrestler — and local — Hulk Hogan will be listed for sale Monday with an asking price of $10.98 million.
The house is at 1040 Eldorado Ave. on the far north end of the barrier island. The sale does not include a cottage on the property which is being separated and getting its own tax ID.
Hogan, whose real name was Terry Boella, died last year. He bought the home in 2016 for $1.6 million.
Hogan rose to fame in the 1980s as a colorful wrestler and personality known for his robust mustache and tear away T-shirts. His popularity even had a name: Hulkamania.
With a personality as big as his physique, he spent much of his adult life as a resident of Clearwater after growing up in Tampa and graduating from Robinson High School. And his family’s then Clearwater home off of Fort Harrison Avenue was central in his popular mid-2000s reality television show Hogan Knows Best.
Hogan died in the city of cardiac arrest July 24.
The 5,400-square-foot, five bedroom and five-and-a-half-bathroom house was built in 2009 and sits on the beach in a residential stretch of Clearwater Beach, far from the crowds and near the Carousel Yacht Club.
With views of the Gulf from almost every room, it has 1,500 square feet of covered outdoor space with a heated pool and spa. Inside it has a designer chef’s kitchen, a gas fireplace and a private elevator. The primary bedroom is nearly 1,000 square feet.
The listing, and an accompanying website, are scheduled to go live Monday, Feb. 2.
Martha Thorn of Coldwell Banker Realty’s Thorn Collection is listing the property.
