A build-to-rent townhouse community is now in development in Venice. Hawthorne Hollows recently broke ground and began vertical construction, according to Lafayette Real Estate.

When complete, the community will include 50 townhouses. Floorplans will feature three- and four-bedroom layouts. Hawthorne Hollows will be located off Curry Lane, near Pinebrook Road.

Lafayette Real Estate is a vertically integrated investment manager. Its development and construction arm, Marquis Homes, is building Hawthorne Hollows. Construction is expected to be complete by the end of 2026, according to a statement.

Once the community is built, Lafayette Real Estate’s in-house property management company, Brandywine Homes USA, will manage Hawthorne Hollows.

In addition to Venice, Lafayette is engaged in a build-to-rent townhouse project near Jacksonville and has about 1,200 more lots under contract to be entitled and developed in the next few years, including in Charlotte, North Carolina; Nashville; and Dallas.

"We are deeply committed to providing households with more high-quality rental housing options,” Lafayette Real Estate CEO and founder Thibault Adrien says in a statement, "and taking action to create new housing supply."

New York-based Lafayette Real Estate has $1.3 billion in assets under management and a portfolio of about 5,000 units, mainly in the Sun Belt.
