Adams Group, a North Port-based cabinet manufacturer and installer of interior casework, has acquired a Pinellas County firm. Mill-Rite Woodworking Company, which has its headquarters in Pinellas Park, is now part of the Sarasota County company.

Mill-Rite focuses on high-end commercial applications of casework and millwork products. Founded in 1966, the company also offers stonework products like granite and quartz. Mill-Rite has worked on projects such as the millwork at Tampa’s Benchmark International Arena and wall panels, custom millwork and countertops at The Westin Sarasota. Its clients reach as far away as Kansas.

Now part of Adams Group, Mill-Rite will operate as the Sarasota County company’s specialty wood and stone division. This will expand production capacity and vertically integrated capabilities, according to a statement from Adams Group.

“This acquisition is about alignment to bring to together craftsmanship, consistency and trust,” the statement says, “By integrating Mill-Rite into the Adams Group platform, we’re increasing capacity while maintaining the disciplined processes and service standards our partners rely on. The addition of specialty wood and stone fabrication strengthens our ability to deliver complex projects with greater clarity, predictability and follow-through.”

Adams Group was established in 1978 in Ohio and was incorporated in Florida in 1984. The firm started with residential and small commercial clients and by the 1990s became commercial-only. It serves customers from Florida to Pennsylvania to Texas, according to its website, which also says it has 125 staff members and $1.5 billion in project bids.
