A national aesthetics company specializing in laser hair removal is closing its corporate office in Tampa and terminating 255 employees. Ideal Image Development Corp. filed the layoff notice with the state of Florida recently, as required by the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.
Layoffs at Ideal Image will begin on Feb. 20, according to the notice, which says the terminations will continue through the complete closure of the corporate office at 1 North Dale Mabry Highway, Suite 1200.
“This action is being taken due to [the] sale of the business assets of Ideal Image,” the WARN notice says.
The majority of the corporate employees are remote, according to the notice. Of the 255 workers affected, 84 live in Florida, the letter says.
Ideal Image has more than 140 locations nationwide, according to its website, which says it offers services like Botox, microneedling, laser hair removal, cool sculpting and skin lifting, among others. In addition to its corporate headquarters, the company has a clinic at 1 North Dale Mabry Highway in Suite 100.
Asked whether the clinics will continue to operate, Ideal Image General Counsel Dipawali Shah says in an email: “There has been an ongoing process of selling clinics to other industry leaders.”
The building where Ideal Image will unwind its headquarters at 1 North Dale Mabry recently sold for $40 million, in an unrelated transaction. Other tenants there include Travelers Insurance, Marsh & McLennan Agency, Rissman Law Firm and PCL Construction.
