An Orlando-based manufacturer of dental products has acquired a Sarasota dental lab; Standard Dental Labs has purchased Brlit Dental Lab. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Brlit Dental Lab — based at 4232 McIntosh Lane, off Bee Ridge near McIntosh roads — specializes in making crowns, bridges, implants, dentures, partials and appliance repairs. Its products are all made in the United States, which is a key differentiator in the industry, according to a statement. Founded in 1977, the lab is also a third-generation family-run business.

“A great deal of care went into structuring this transaction so that the people, processes and relationships that define Brlit remain intact,” President and CEO of Standard Dental Labs James Brooks says in a statement. “This was never about changing the culture — it was about protecting it and giving it a stable platform for the future.”

As a result of the acquisition, Brlit will benefit from additional scale and support through access to Standard Dental Labs’ broader operational resources, compliance infrastructure and long-term growth platform, according to the statement.

The deal aligns with Standard Dental Lab’s strategy of partnering with established Florida dental laboratories dedicated to craftsmanship, ethics and long-standing practitioner relationships.
