Tandem Construction has promoted two longtime employees, Nathan Renner and Matthew Sims, to shareholder and vice president roles. Both were previously senior project managers.

The Sarasota-based construction management company, founded in 1980, says the promotions reflect their “years of dedication, leadership, and commitment to the firm’s continued success. Renner has been with the company 22 years, while Sims has been there 14 years.

“Today’s announcement is an exciting moment for our company,” Tandem Construction President Brian Leaver says in a statement. “Nathan and Matt have demonstrated outstanding leadership, professionalism and dedication throughout their careers. Their contributions have helped shape who we are as a company, and we’re thrilled to welcome them as shareholders and members of our executive leadership team.”

As vice presidents, Renner and Sims will continue leading major construction management projects while taking on expanded responsibilities in strategic planning, business development, mentorship and guiding the company’s future growth.

Tandem builds projects in Manatee, Sarasota and Charlotte counties, working in the commercial, education, sports and recreation, government, hospitality, and community-based nonprofit sectors.
