Two Sarasota boat manufacturers are joining forces through an acquisition. Calcutta Marine International LLC has purchased Andros Boatworks Inc. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Calcutta, based on Northgate Boulevard, makes custom offshore fishing catamarans.

Andros, headquartered on Pinckney Avenue off Clark Road, is known for its custom boat designs, specifically for anglers and offshore enthusiasts.

Both companies share values of craftsmanship, honesty and long-term customer relationships, according to a statement.

Moving forward, the Andros brand, established by the Eggebrecht family more than 20 years ago, will continue as a complementary line within Calcutta, benefiting from shared operational strengths and expanded support.

"This is a proud moment for Sarasota," Andros Boatworks President Andy Eggebrecht says in the statement. "Two local companies with deep roots in this community are coming together to build something even stronger. We're excited for what's ahead."

Through the deal, the Andros team will remain intact, according to the statement.

Larry "Tripp" Lawson III, Christian Aunspaugh and Jacob Middleton of Viking Mergers & Acquisitions facilitated the acquisition.

"This was an opportunity to bring together two companies with strong brands, mutual values and clear strategic alignment," Lawson says in a statement. "Calcutta is well-positioned to continue the Andros legacy, support its team and build on the strengths that made the business successful."

Viking Mergers & Acquisitions, based in North Carolina and Tampa, serves business owners with annual revenues from $2 million to $250 million. Over the course of 30 years, it has sold more than 950 businesses.
