Jason Metnick, President and Chief Operating Officer of S-One Holdings, has been a member of the Gulf Coast CEO Forum for seven years. He also serves on the board of the Economic Development Corporation of Sarasota County. He shares his unique experience with the Gulf Coast CEO Forum in this exclusive Q&A.
Q: Can you tell us more about your role with S-One?
A: As president and chief operating officer, I oversee all sales and operations across our global footprint. I’ve been with S-One for 27 years, and today we manage operations and distribution centers in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. In total, we have 226 employees worldwide, with nearly half based in Sarasota. Our teams work across multiple time zones to serve customers in a wide variety of industries.
Q: How does S-One differ from other companies in the digital imaging space?
A: S-One is not a printing company but a technology-driven wholesale distributor committed to our employees and our customers, that provides materials, equipment, and solutions to companies in digital imaging and related industries. We supply organizations ranging from FedEx Office to FastSigns with the tools they need to create graphics, signage, packaging, and more.
Through our different subsidiaries, we’ve built a diversified business model:
This structure allows us to serve a broad range of markets, from graphics and signage to packaging, while staying focused on innovation and customer needs.
Q: How has the Gulf Coast CEO Forum helped you and your business?
A: While S-One’s customer base is global, the Gulf Coast CEO Forum has been invaluable for me personally and professionally. The roundtable format is particularly impactful; it’s like having a board of directors made up of peers from diverse industries. The ability to share challenges, gain fresh perspectives, and learn from others’ experiences has helped me grow as a leader and given me new tools to bring back to the business.
Q: What would you tell others who may want to join the Gulf Coast CEO Forum?
A: The Forum offers a lot, from speaker breakfasts to networking events, but the real value lies in the roundtables. That’s where the deeper conversations happen, where leaders can exchange ideas and advice in a trusted environment. It’s a unique opportunity to learn and connect in ways that go beyond traditional networking.
Q: In December, the Gulf Coast CEO Forum is hosting a Big Event featuring Jesse Itzler. What are you most looking forward to?
A: I’m excited to hear Jesse Itzler’s perspective. His work and experiences are inspiring, and I think his message will resonate with many of us. The fact that the event has nearly sold out speaks to the level of excitement in the community. It promises to be a memorable morning of insights and inspiration.
