Southwest Florida International Airport had its busiest August in the airport's 43-year history, according to the Lee County Port Authority.

In August at RSW, officials say 647,917 passengers traveled through the Fort Myers airport, a 5% increase compared with August 2024.

Leading the way was Delta with 152,803 passengers; it was followed in passenger traffic by Southwest with 107,919; American with 97,808; United with 95,540; and JetBlue with 70,952.

There were 6,013 aircraft operations at RSW last month, which includes takeoffs and landings, an 11% increase compared with August 2024.

Despite the August uptick, authorities say that passenger traffic overall this year is down 0.3%.

Page Field saw 12,323 operations in August, a 5% decrease compared with August 2024.

Last year, more than 11 million passengers traveled through RSW, which is among the top 50 U.S. airports for passenger traffic. The airport does not use property taxes for airport operations or construction.
