St. Pete title company in 29 states after Rhode Island acquisition

Tag Agency Professionals, a St. Petersburg company that provides vehicle title and registrations services, has bought a business in Rhode Island, expanding its reach to 29 states.

The new company is EZDMV. Tag Agency declined to disclose the acquisition price.

The Rhode Island company provides title and registration services to fleet operators in 16 states, eight of which Tag Agency already does business in, according to statement.

Rick Becker, the St. Petersburg company’s COO, says in an email that buying EZDMV expands its offerings into Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Washington.

The addition also increases its employee count to 175.

Tag Agency Professionals was founded in 2010. It provides title and registration services to automotive dealerships, fleet companies, financial institutions, and other industry-related businesses.

According to the statement, EZDMV’s founder, Dennis Sullivan, and the current management team will continue to run the company.
