A national builder has officially broken ground on two model homes at SeaFlower, a mixed-use community being developed in west Bradenton on more than 1,100 acres. M/I Homes is now selling townhouses and villas at the property, which previously operated as a flower farm.
“We’re thrilled to be breaking ground on our model homes in SeaFlower,” Greg Crawford, area president of M/I Homes, says in a statement. “This location is unbeatable — close to the beaches, major roadways and everything people love about coastal Florida living.”
M/I Homes will build 90 villas and 68 townhouses at SeaFlower ranging from 1,486 to 2,406 square feet, according to a statement. They will include two or three bedrooms, island kitchens and rear entry as well as flexible living spaces with options including dens, lanais and private courtyards. The homes will be priced from the high $300,000s.

The initial phase of development at SeaFlower will include more than 1,000 homes on 400 acres south of Cortez Road and west of 75th Street, the Business Observer previously reported.
“We’re delighted to welcome M/I Homes to SeaFlower,” says Ed Hill, principal with Lake Flores Land Co., which is developing the property with investment partner Lamb Properties. “Their commitment to quality and community aligns perfectly with our vision for SeaFlower – a vibrant, walkable coastal community where thoughtful design and natural beauty come together. We look forward to seeing their homes come to life and to welcoming new residents who will help shape this growing coastal village.”
At full buildout, SeaFlower will encompass 4,000 homes as well as apartments, 250 hotel rooms and 350,000 square feet of commercial space.
M/I Homes has sold more than 170,000 homes since its founding in 1976. The company, which has its headquarters in Columbus, Ohio, posted $4.5 billion in revenue in 2024.
