A Sarasota manufacturer of instant narcotics and explosive detection wipes has partnered with an Australian distributor.

Trace Eye-D, which has a corporate headquarters in Tampa and a production facility and lab in Sarasota, will sell its field-ready detection tools to Optimum Technology, a forensic solutions provider with customers in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region, according to a statement.

“Optimum Technology has roots in groundbreaking innovations in Australian forensic technology; it’s a privilege to be recognized as a fellow innovator and trusted supplier,” Trace Eye-D CEO Chris St. Peters says in a statement. “This partnership ensures that professionals in Australia, New Zealand and beyond can rely on rapid, reliable detection in the field.”

Trace Eye-D products are used by law enforcement, corrections, first responders and security teams worldwide. In July, the company signed a distribution agreement with a company in the United Arab Emirates.

Among its products are detection for narcotics like fentanyl and other opioids, cocaine and methamphetamine as well as explosives such as peroxide-based, chlorate, perchlorate and aromatic/aliphatic compounds.
