A new freestanding emergency room has opened in north Manatee County. HCA Florida North River Ranch Emergency began welcoming patients Oct. 1 in Parrish, according to a statement.
The 14,000-square-foot facility is an extension of HCA Florida South Shore Hospital, which is in southern Hillsborough County.
Board-certified emergency physicians, nurses and technicians staff the $16 million ER in Parrish, providing treatment for urgent and emergent conditions like broken bones, stroke, lacerations, stomach and abdominal pain, respiratory infections, and breathing difficulties.
Located at 12145 Little River Way, HCA Florida North River Ranch Emergency includes 11 treatment rooms; laboratory, radiology and CT services; and a trauma room, according to a statement. It also has a pediatric treatment room, its website says.
“We are excited and honored to be the first to provide emergency care to the North River Ranch and Parrish communities,” HCA Florida South Shore Hospital CEO Cathy Edmisten says in a statement. “Our dedicated emergency care team is committed to delivering exceptional care, and we look forward to being a catalyst for the growth and success of this vibrant and growing area.”
North River Ranch is a master-planned community with approvals for 6,000 residences across multiple neighborhoods near Fort Hamer and Moccasin Wallow roads. Lakewood Ranch-based Neal Land & Neighborhoods is the developer for the community, which is more than 51% built out.
"The HCA Florida North River Ranch Emergency facility and the upcoming hospital are purposely located in the heart of Parrish," Neal Land & Neighborhoods President John Neal says in an emailed statement, "to serve the health needs of North River Ranch and Parrish residents as its hometown community hospital."
