Sarasota financial firm acquired by national wealth advisory company

A Sarasota financial firm has been acquired by a Nebraska-based company. SRQ Wealth is now owned by Carson Group, a wealth advisory firm out of Omaha. Carson Group is a subsidiary of Carson Group Holdings LLC, which has $42 billion in assets under management.

SRQ Wealth will continue to be led by Managing Partner and Senior Wealth Advisor Steve Martin along with his partners Karin Grablin and Justin Salemy. In addition, the business will keep operating under the name SRQ Wealth, according to a statement. 

Currently the agency on Tuttle Avenue in Sarasota manages $365 million in assets, according to the statement. SRQ Wealth has been a partner with Carson Group since 2019, benefiting from operational support, but had been independently owned.

“Steve [Martin] and his team were looking to solve for succession and business continuity of the strong practice they’ve built,” Carson Group CEO Burt White says in a statement. “By enhancing our partnership, SRQ Wealth will be able to grow faster and level up without skipping a beat."

The acquisition will enable SRQ Wealth to offer more resources, tools and support to its team and clients, according to a statement.

“This partnership with Carson represents a strategic step in our vision to build a firm designed not just for today but for the next 100 years,” Martin says in the statement. “At the heart of this decision is a commitment to long-term sustainability. We’re laying the groundwork for a thoughtful, deliberate plan that ensures continuity for generations to come, and our combined strengths position us to lead with stability, vision and purpose well into the future.”

In addition to partners Martin, Grablin and Salemy, the SRQ Wealth team includes Associated Wealth Advisor Juliana Carmona and office support staff Taylor Wald, Heather Diggs, Amy Treis and Dana Towell, who will continue serving the firm.

According to a statement, SRQ Wealth marks the 25th office now owned by Carson Group.
