FlyUSA, a Clearwater-based aviation company, has acquired two Central Florida firms: TRYP Air Charter and its affiliated company, MySky Aviation Solutions.
TRYP Air Charter provides flights to the Bahamas and around the southeastern United States. MySky Aviation Solutions is a consulting firm for local aviation businesses.
With the acquisition, FlyUSA’s total aircraft under management expanded from 24 to 28 and its on-fleet aircraft available for charter increased 50% from eight to a total of 12, according to a statement.
Elliott Mintzer, founder and CEO of TRYP Air Charter and MySky Aviation, will join FlyUSA to manage its turboprop/PC-12 fleet. According to the TRYP website, Mintzer has 5,000 hours specifically in the Pilatus PC12.
Kyle Garren, TRYP’s VP of Charter/Logistics, will also join the company, the release states.
“We’ve known the TRYP team since we first started FlyUSA and they’ve been a great partner to work with, we are all excited about joining forces,” says Barry Shevlin, co-founder and CEO of FlyUSA, in the statement. “This transaction results in FlyUSA becoming the largest and most active combined turboprop and light jet fleet in the state of Florida, if not the broader Southeast U.S. This partnership unlocks new opportunities for growth, but most importantly, delivers even greater value to those we serve. I could not be more excited having these two organizations join FlyUSA.”
FlyUSA was founded in 2020 and specializes in aircraft management, charter flights, maintenance, tech operations and airport management for 1,500 clients according to its website. As of last fall, the company had approximately 60 employees. During Q1 of 2025 it garnered $15 million in revenue and is on track to its goal of $70 million in annual revenue.
