Decks & Docks, a Clearwater-based marine construction and outdoor living supply company, has expanded into the Midwest with the purchase of Kansas City-based The Deck Supply.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Deck Supply operates six retail locations and an e-commerce operation with a customer base made up of mostly of contractors, deck builders, remodelers and custom home builders.

Its stores are in Missouri, Kansas and Iowa.

In a statement announcing the deal, the company is described as a “multi-site specialty distributor of composite decking and railing, framing lumber and hardware, and deck accessories such as lighting and drainage and screen systems.”

Decks & Docks says in the statement that The Deck Supply will take on its new owner’s name and founders — Travis, Marshall and Jordan Smith — will continue to run the business and have an ownership stake in Decks & Docks.

Decks & Docks was founded in 1991 and is known as a “one-stop shop” for contractors with a suite of composite decking, railings, pilings and vinyl seawall. It currently operates a network of 53 facilities across 18 states

Decks & Docks’ President Tyler Wallace says the purchase of The Deck Supply is part of its long-term strategy and that “establishing a presence in the Midwest and continuing to grow our inland decking footprint are two key pillars of our growth plan.”
