The Tampa Bay Innovation Center has named a new CEO and is planning to rebrand.

The St. Petersburg based nonprofit innovation hub named Rebecca Brown to run the organization. She took over July 1.

According to a biography of Brown included in a statement widely shared with local media early Thursday morning, she is the founder of Core Satellite Partner and has advised growth-stage companies, founders and family offices "on scaling businesses, building operational frameworks and driving impact."

She is also a former private wealth advisor and executive with Goldman Sachs and co-founder of Solemates, a shoe and footwear protection company that was featured on the television show Shark Tank.

Her ties to the area include mentoring tech founders through the Tampa Bay Wave Accelerator.

The Tampa Bay Innovation Center was founded in 2003 and focuses on serving technology-based entrepreneurs and organizations through its incubator and accelerator program.

The rebrand, according to the statement, is expected to roll out in coming months. It will include an updated identity, platform and programming.
