Arizona-based homebuilder Taylor Morrison is opening a new community this weekend in Punta Gorda. Esplanade at Starling will bring 600 homes to the area in a development that is designed to feel like a resort.
“Esplanade at Starling offers homebuyers an exciting array of planned resort-amenities matched with beautifully appointed homes,” Taylor Morrison’s Naples Division President Barbara Kininmonth says in a statement. “Residents will enjoy a stunning resort lifestyle experience that feels like you’re living your dream vacation every day.”
The community is currently under construction, with the first residents expected to move in within months, according to officials.
Single-family homes will start in the high $300,000s and range from about 1,300 to 3,000 square feet. Residences will have two to four bedrooms, two to 3.5 baths and two-car garages.

Cabanas, a pool, a poolside restaurant and bar, tennis and pickleball courts, bocce courts, a fitness center and spa services are among the amenities planned for Esplanade at Starling. A lifestyle manager who works full time on-site will plan events for residents.
“From our robust planned resort amenities to the surrounding area of vibrant Punta Gorda, Esplanade at Starling will offer something for all ages to enjoy," President of Taylor Morrison's Resort Lifestyle Brand Cammie Longenecker says in the statement. Esplanade communities are inspired by resort-style living and are designed to “provide opportunities centered around exciting amenities, wellness programs and concierge services to invigorate the mind, body and spirit," Longenecker notes.
Other Esplanade developments are Esplanade at Palmer Ranch in Sarasota County, Esplanade at Azario Lakewood Ranch and Esplanade by the Islands in Naples.
Taylor Morrison reported $7.8 billion in home closing revenue in 2024, up 8% from the previous year. It had nearly 13,000 home closings last year with an average price of $601,000.
Tours of the new community and models in Esplanade at Starling will be available from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at 26789 Victoria Place, Punta Gorda. There will be information about the resort lifestyle and amenities, live music from a steel drummer, giveaway drawings as well as light bites and wine tasting.
