Virginia company acquires Bradenton hotel

The new Extended Stay America Premier Suites in Bradenton has been acquired by Sandpiper LLC, a Richmond, Virginia-based real estate investment trust that specializes in extended-stay properties. 

Extended Stay America Premier Suites in Bradenton opened in January, according to a statement from Sandpiper. It includes 124 rooms, each equipped with a full kitchen and free Wi-Fi. Rooms are pet friendly, and guests have access to laundry on site. The property is at 4550 53rd Ave. E.

BASK FL Bradenton LLC, which owned the property, sold it to Sandpiper LLC for $19.1 million in late January, according to Manatee County records. BASK Development, based in Schaumberg Illinois, is a third-party hotel management and development company. A spokesperson for Sandpiper declined to comment on the total purchase price for the hotel.

Sandpiper has 39 properties in its portfolio, including WoodSpring Suites Tampa and Residence Inn Lakeland. It owns hotels under these brands: WoodSpring Suites, Candlewood Suites, Suburban Extended Stay, Residence Inn, Courtyard, RiseWell Kitchen Suites, ESA Premier Suites and ECHO Suites,

Affiliated hotel management company Sandpiper Hospitality will manage the operations of the Extended Stay America Premier Suites in Bradenton.
