Fort Myers airport launches new nonstop flight

A new flight recently took off from Southwest Florida International Airport. Delta Airlines began daily service between Fort Myers and Salt Lake City effective Dec. 20.

Atlanta-based Delta Airlines will run the nonstop flight between RSW and SLC every day through May 6, 2026, according to a statement, which says this is the first nonstop offering between the two locations.

Recently, RSW has had several new flights introduced:

• Allegiant began serving the airport with three flights in November — to Allentown, Pennsylvania; Appleton, Wisconsin; and Des Moines, Iowa.
• American Airlines also started offering nonstop service between Fort Myers and Phoenix for the holidays.
• JetBlue announced it will begin service to upstate New York in March 2026.

In 2024, RSW served more than 11 million passengers. It has an operating budget of $212.7 million for FY 2024-2025. No ad valorem tax dollars support the airport operations or construction.
