As tourism picks up, so too does the need for staff at area restaurants. That is why Oysters Rock Hospitality, which operates seven restaurants across Sarasota and Manatee counties, is holding a job fair Dec. 15 at its St. Armands location.

“Oysters Rock Hospitality is preparing for a busy season across all restaurant locations,” the company, which owns Anna Maria Oyster Bar and the Cafe on St. Armands, says in a statement.

The company has 425 employees and is looking to hire 40 to 50 more, according to a spokesperson.

Oysters Rock is hiring for front-of-house (bar back, barista, bartender, busser, expeditor, food runner, host and server) as well as heart-of-house (dishwasher, pastry chef, line cook, facilities and oyster shucker) positions.

During the job fair at the Cafe on St. Armands, candidates will be able to have same-day interviews and meet with the Oysters Rock Hospitality leadership team.

“This job fair offers an accessible opportunity for candidates to explore roles within an organization known for professional development, strong cultural values and a welcoming environment,” the company says in a statement.

Candidates will be able to review the pay structure, scheduling, benefits and opportunities for growth during the job fair, via a “frequently asked questions” sheet.

Oysters Rock Hospitality has six Anna Maria Oyster Bar locations — two in Bradenton and one apiece at UTC, Ellenton, Bradenton Beach and North Port. It also owns Cafe on St. Armands, where the job fair will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, at 431 St. Armands Circle in Sarasota. The company is asking candidates to pre-register online. Those who cannot attend in person may apply for jobs online. Another job fair is planned for January at one of the Anna Maria Oyster Bar locations.
