A new apartment community has opened with access to the Legacy Trail in south Sarasota County. Render Legacy Trail contains 450 units, ranging from one- to three-bedroom layouts, off State Road 681 in Nokomis.
All apartments feature plank flooring, granite countertops, large kitchen islands, stainless steel appliances, designer lighting and private patios or balconies, according to a statement. The units are in three- and four-story buildings equipped with elevators. Rent for a one-bedroom apartment starts around $1,500.
Community amenities include a heated saltwater pool; outdoor kitchens and grilling stations; fitness center with spin studio; club room with shuffleboard, TVs and micro-offices; dog park; EV charging stations; bike storage; and rentable garages. Render Legacy Trail also provides access to the Legacy Trail, a more than 18-mile multiuse trail for bikers and pedestrians.
Crescent Communities and FCP built the community as a joint venture with lending from Wells Fargo.
“Render Legacy Trail captures what today’s renters are looking for — comfort, connection, and character in a community that fits their lifestyle,” Greg Minder, managing director for central Florida at Crescent Communities, says in a statement. “Sarasota’s mix of natural beauty, recreation and culture makes it an ideal setting for our Render brand, which focuses on best-in-class suburban living with a local feel.”
Crescent Communities, which is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, develops multifamily and commercial communities around the country. Its multifamily properties are branded Render, Harmon and Novel. Other apartments it has in the region include Novel Beach Park and Novel Independence Park, both in Tampa. It also has a build-to-rent townhouse community called Harmon Ashton Oaks in Wesley Chapel under construction.
Founded in 1963, Crescent Communities has more than 95 multifamily communities and 26 million square feet of commercial space in its portfolio. It has $7.2 billion of residential and commercial investments and developments in the pipeline, including 15,300 build-to-rent units; 58,000 square feet of complementary retail space; and 7.5 million square feet of office, industrial and life-sciences facilities.
FCP is a privately held investment company based in Chevy Chase, Maryland. It has invested in or financed more than $14.6 billion in gross asset value since its founding in 1999.
Other partners in developing Render Legacy Trail include architects Dwell Design Studio, engineers EM Structural and Jordan & Skala Engineers, interior design firm Focus Design Interiors, builder Kaufman Lynn Construction, civil engineer Kimley-Horn and landscape architect LandDesign.
