Six casinos were raided recently by authorities in Cape Coral. Authorities seized more than $540,000 in cash, according to police, who called it the “largest illegal gambling crackdown in Southwest Florida.”

Officials say they apprehended 428 gambling machines as part of the investigation, which was conducted over a period of months and also included one residence. The machines had been “deliberately calibrated to ensure consistent losses for patrons,” police say.

These were the casinos where police seized the machines:

  • Vegas Style Games at 1119 Del Prado Blvd. S. #2
  • Jacks Arcade at 1480 NE Pine Island Road #1C
  • Senior Chuckies at 111 Del Prado Blvd. N. #10
  • White Sands at 2710 Del Prado Blvd. S.
  • Jackpot Corner at 1242 SW Pine Island Road
  • Jackpot Island at 900 SW Pine Island Road

“Evidence also indicates these establishments served as havens for other illegal activity, including narcotics trafficking,” according to the Cape Coral Police Department.

Police say they have identified multiple persons of interest but no arrests have been made as of Aug. 27. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional enforcement efforts are expected, according to authorities.

The Florida Gaming Commission collaborated with the Cape Coral Police Department in the case.
