A gourmet tavern restaurant concept that has taken off along the Gulf Coast is expanding into Cape Coral this fall.
Oak & Stone, which launched its first location in 2016 in Sarasota and now has seven restaurants in the region, will open at 4720 SE 9th Place, Suite 400, in November, according to a statement. The Cape Coral eatery will be the second Oak & Stone in Lee County, where there is already one in Estero.
“With its variety of shops, scenic waterfront and vibrant dining scene, Cape Coral is a perfect place for Oak & Stone to put down roots and find a new following among foodies seeking a fun and relaxed place to gather, share and enjoy,” Sam Aguilar, Oak & Stone brand president, says in a statement.
With seating for 200, the Cape Coral restaurant will serve up lunch, brunch and dinner consisting of classic gourmet tavern fare, made-from-scratch dishes and artisan pizzas, according to a statement, which lists items like smoky gouda mac 'n cheese and Philly cheesesteak egg rolls as standouts. The eatery will also build on the brand’s Tap Wall by offering self-pour wine and cocktails in addition to craft beer.
“We look forward to welcoming Cape Coral locals and visitors to experience the signature food, drinks and atmosphere that have made Oak & Stone a neighborhood favorite across Florida,” Aguilar says.
The Cape Coral restaurant will feature a private dining room, bar with indoor and outdoor seating, front patio and rear social courtyard.
Other locations for the brand are in Bradenton, Estero, Naples, Sarasota (one on Clark Road and another at UTC), St. Petersburg and Venice (Wellen Park).
The opening in Cape Coral will mark the first of multiple new restaurant openings planned for Oak & Stone over the next 18 months, according to a statement.
Oak & Stone is owned and operated by Winter Park-based Artistry Restaurants. The hospitality company's portfolio spans Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, North Carolina and South Carolina. It operates 51 restaurants through seven brands: Oak & Stone, Atlantic Beer & Oyster, Boca, The Chapman, Hickory Tavern, Sandbar Amelia Island and Shrimp Basket.
