Jimmy Buffett may be gone but the lifestyle he traded in — and profited from — is alive and well.

The latest example of that is the Fins Up! Beach Club that’s opened up on still-recovering Fort Myers Beach.

The 15,000-square-foot club, which takes its name from the familiar Parrot Head greeting, is a sprawling sundeck built around a lagoon pool at the recently opened Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach.

Both resort guests and outsiders will be allowed in the club. The number of tickets and pricing for day passes, however, will vary for nonguests based on occupancy and the day of the week, according to a news release announcing the opening. Pricing will generally start at $65.

What you get for that is a club across from the beach with chaise lounge chairs and private cabanas for rent as well as poolside service. Theres also the 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill which have 60, one would imagine well-worn, bar stools and seats for dining.

Adjacent to the pool is the Fort Myers Beach Cigar Hut, which will become the Salty Rim once the interior work is completed. It will feature gourmet hot dogs, pizza and frozen drinks.

And, of course, there will be live entertainment.

The 254-room Margaritaville, which draws its inspiration from the carefree lifestyle the late Buffett embraced and endorsed, is located at 251 Crescent St. It sits on 7.25 acres along Fort Myers Beach and has direct beach access and views of the Gulf of Mexico, according to the release.

Along with Fins Up!, the resort has six restaurants along with a 43,000-square-foot Sunset Terrace. All are open to the public.

The resort opened in December.
