A new CEO has stepped in at Veransa Group Inc., a Sarasota-based company that turns green waste like urban wood into useful commodities like blended soils and organic compost.

Dave Vaughn brings in over 35 years of experience to the role where he will be responsible for promoting company growth. Prior to this role, Vaughn was the executive vice president of the west region at Denali Water Solutions, an environmental services company.

“Dave’s operational expertise and wealth of knowledge in Veransa’s space is a perfect match with who we are and where we are headed,” Roger Johansson, co-founder of Veransa, says in a release.

Johansson was recently the company’s interim CEO and will remain part of the leadership team with a focus on business development and growth initiatives.

The company has locations in Sarasota, Clearwater, Tampa, Seffner and Fort Myers.
