The Sanibel Captiva Trust Co. says it has made Megan Marquardt its president of the company's new Bell Tower office.

The Bell Tower location is part of The Sanibel Captiva Trust's continued growth and expansion into the Fort Myers market, the company says. The wealth management company leased permanent space in the Bell Tower, at U.S. and Daniels Parkway, last November.

The Sanibel Captiva Trust Co. is an independent trust company with $3.9 billion in assets under management. Services include investment management, trust administration and financial counsel to high-net-worth individuals, families, businesses, foundations and endowments. Founded in 2001 as a state-chartered independent trust company, the firm is focused on wealth management services "that are absolute-return oriented and performance driven."

"We have had long-term plans to expand to Fort Myers, and now that we've done so, we feel confident that having her at the helm will benefit to our clients, employees and community," says S. Albert D. Hanser, The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company founder and chairman.

As president of the Bell Tower office, which has about 20 employees, Marquardt will oversee operations while developing new relationships in Fort Myers, Estero and Port Charlotte, the company says, while still working with existing clients on Sanibel.

Company officials say Marquardt, who joined the company in February 2022, has 20 years of experience serving trust and investment clients. Her specialty is in understanding her clients' financial and estate planning needs, and meeting goals based on that, the company says.

Marquardt says the "personal touch combined with sophisticated financial strategy is hard to come by in today’s financial climate."

This is the second major promotion within the company since June, when Beth Weigel, with the company since 2010, was made CFO.

The Naples Trust Co. and The Tampa Bay Trust Co. are divisions of The Sanibel Captiva Trust Co. Offices are located in Sanibel-Captiva, Fort Myers, Naples, Marco Island, Tampa Bay, Belleair Bluffs-Clearwater and Tarpon Springs.
