$3.5 billion trust company names new CFO

Beth Weigel, a longtime employee of The Sanibel Captiva Trust Co., has been promoted to CFO.  

Weigel has more than 20 years of experience in accounting and small business management, according to a statement. She oversees all aspects of the company’s operating budget and applications and manages expense projections to support the firm’s growth. Weigel also collaborates with the director of compliance and independent financial audit teams, the release adds.  

The Sanibel Captiva Trust Co. has $3.5 billion in assets under management.

The Sanibel Captiva Trust CEO Terence Igo, in the statement, says Weigel, who joined the firm in 2010, according to her LinkedIn profile, “is an integral partner in the firm’s strategic planning effort.”



Prior to her promotion, Weigel served as COO of the firm, the release states, where she oversaw the client relations team and supported the trust administration operation. Earlier in her career, Weigel worked in public accounting as a senior staff accountant and earned her CPA, the release states. She worked as the controller of a family-owned business, managing all phases of accounting, tax reporting and human resources.

Founded in 2001 as a state-chartered independent trust company, the firm provides family office and wealth management services, including investment management, trust administration and financial counsel, to high-net-worth individuals, families, businesses, foundations and endowments. The Naples Trust Co. and The Tampa Bay Trust Co. are divisions of The Sanibel Captiva Trust Co. In total, the company has offices in Sanibel-Captiva, Fort Myers, Naples, Marco Island, Tampa, Belleair Bluffs and Tarpon Springs.
