Stinson LLP, a national law firm headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, has opened an office in Tampa — its first in Florida — and appointed two locally based partners, Marc Weintraub and Stephen Putnoki-Higgins.

The pair, according to a news release, will work with another Stinson LLP partner, Todd Phelps, who’s been splitting time between Florida and Minnesota for several years. Weintraub comes to Stinson LLP after 17 years with Bailey & Glasser LLP, where he served as managing partner of the Charleston West Virginia-based firm’s Florida office. Putnoki-Higgins also practiced as a partner at Bailey & Glasser.

“Our commitment to meeting our clients' needs and delivering the highest level of client service drove our decision to open an office in Tampa and welcome partners Marc Weintraub and Stephen Putnoki-Higgins,” Stinson Managing Partner Allison Murdock states in the release. “As we grow strategically in 2023 and beyond, we know that opening a Tampa office will be a catalyst for more exciting opportunities to come.”

Weintraub, the release states, is a seasoned corporate attorney and business executive who has represented clients negotiating multimillion-dollar investment and loan transactions involving domestic and international parties. His practice also includes substantial work in energy transactions, project finance, economic development and real estate development.

Putnoki-Higgins, meanwhile, helps protects clients’ family wealth through careful estate and tax planning. With a master of laws degree in taxation, Putnoki-Higgins focuses his legal practice on the tax, estate planning, business planning and estate administration needs of sophisticated individuals and their families.

“Marc and Stephen are great attorneys who share our firm's values," Murdock states in the release. “We look forward to working with them to better serve our existing Florida clients and further grow our Tampa presence."

In addition to Weintraub and Putnoki-Higgins, three other attorneys will be joining Stinson in Florida: Of counsel Kurt Gleeson and associates Gregory Payton and April Petrosino.

Including its new Tampa office, Stinson now has 13 offices in 11 U.S. cities.
