Sherman Associates, which acquired the Hotel Zamora in St. Pete Beach in September, has hired a new executive chef, Kimberly Subject, to manage the property’s Castile Restaurant along with the property’s lounge, pool bar and rooftop dining area.

Subject, according to a news release, is an award-winning chef from Missouri with ample experience at fine-dining establishments including Anton’s Tap Room in Kansas City and the 1932 Reserve at Lake of the Ozarks. She has been an American Culinary Federation Chef for more than five years and won the Silver Spoon Award for Best Fine Dining in 2021.

At Hotel Zamora, Subject will oversee the culinary service operations of the Castile Restaurant, in addition to planning and executing food and beverage service for special events such as weddings.

Sherman Associates, in the release, says Subject has already refreshed the Castile’s breakfast, lunch and dinner menus and is in the process of creating a new brunch menu. The company is planning a $7 million renovation of the entire Hotel Zamora property, including upgraded guest rooms, common areas and amenities with a focus on serving local clientele.

Located at 3701 Gulf Blvd., Hotel Zamora is known for its panoramic rooftop views of the Gulf of Mexico, the Intracoastal Waterway and St. Petersburg.

Headquartered in Minneapolis, Sherman Associates owns and manages more than 640,000 square feet of commercial real estate throughout the Midwest, Colorado and Florida. It has also developed more than 12,000 multifamily residential units.
