CareerSource Pinellas interim CEO Steven Meier has been appointed to the position on an official basis.

The move was voted on by Pinellas County commissioners, according to a statement. Meier was previously the CFO at the county’s workforce development agency, and has been interim CEO since February 2022.

“Leading CareerSource Pinellas over the past year has been a privilege and I appreciate the county commission’s vote of confidence today. We have a talented team of workforce development professionals serving Pinellas County businesses and job seekers and we will continue to make a positive difference for each of our customers,” Meier says in the release.

Commissioners also voted to approve Larry Morgan of St. Petersburg as a new CareerSource Pinellas board member. Morgan is a local business owner, the release states, managing an office equipment company, Morgan Business Solutions/Printers Plus.

“In his capacity as interim CEO, Steve prioritized team-building and community partnerships, with fantastic results,” CareerSource Pinellas board chair Scott Thomas says in the statement. “Our board is very glad he will remain in the role to deepen the impact that CareerSource Pinellas makes for job seekers and local businesses.”

CareerSource Pinellas is governed by a board whose members are appointed by Pinellas County commissioners.
