A business assistance funds initiative that raised $100,000 last year for minority small business owners recently opened its application process.

The Opportunities For All program, which is led by the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, granted $100,000 in funds to 45 businesses last year.

The business assistance funds program is set up to provide support for minority small business owners and nonprofit organizations, according to a statement. The online submissions started July 15 and will continue through Sept. 18, the release adds.

Startups and businesses that are younger than three years old may qualify for up to $5,000. Businesses older than that can qualify for up to $10,000.

The program is supported by funding from the Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation in Sarasota.
