Fast-growing medical device maker names new president

WINTER HAVEN — 3B Medical Inc., a maker and distributor of products used to treat infections and sleep and breathing disorders, has named Tom Pontzius president, effective immediately.

According to a news release, Pontzius has more than 35 years of experience in health care manufacturing and distribution. He most recently worked at Philips, the multinational conglomerate that makes everything from electric toothbrushes and shavers to light bulbs, where he led the company’s industry affairs and business development department.
