Medical group names new president, managing physician

FORT MYERS — St. Petersburg doctor Dr. Michael Diaz has been named president and managing physician of Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute. He will assume the position Jan. 1.

Diaz succeeds Dr. Lucio Gordan, who has served in that position since 2018, according to a statement. Gordan will continue to practice as a medical oncologist at the FCS Gainesville Cancer Center and serve as chief medical officer of therapeutics and analytics for the statewide practice, the release adds.
