There is something about Milwaukee.

The Wisconsin city is becoming a big destination for airlines flying from Florida. Last week, Spirit Airlines announced daily nonstop flights from both Tampa and Fort Myers. This just a couple of months after Southwest Airlines began seasonal service to Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport out of Sarasota Bradenton International Airport.

And Spirit's Fort Myers new flight won't be the only choice for those wanting to visit Cream City for long. Sun Country Airlines will begin flights out of Fort Myers in December.

The daily flights out of Tampa International Airport are set to begin Nov. 17, according to statement from the airline. Service to Southwest Florida International Airport will start the same day.

These new flights are just the latest in a spate of announcements in recent weeks that include flights to Portland, Oregon, Bentonville, Arkansas, Provo, Utah, Atlantic City, Louisville, Kentucky, Green Bay, Wisconsin and St. Louis.

In all, more than 50 new flights have been added at airports in southwest Florida, from Tampa International Airport to Southwest International.
