LARGO —Another day and another tourism record is broken in Tampa Bay. This time it’s Visit St. Pete/Clearwater and the record number is the amount of bed tax dollars collected in June.
The local tourism group says the amount of money collected in June rose 94% from June of last year to $8.2 million. That’s the most ever collected in the month, according to an email sent out by the organization.
