Resort hires industry veteran for newly created exec role

SANIBEL — Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts has added a new executive position,  human resources director, and also promoted a longtime employee to finance director.  
 

Laurie Rutherford has been named human resources director. Rutherford has almost 25 years of experience in human resources within the hospitality industry, according to a release. Most recently, she served 14 years as vice president and human resources director at staySky Hotels, Resort & Vacation Clubs. At Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts, her responsibilities include payroll, benefits, recruitment, workplace compliance, employee relations, performance and talent management, training and development and other related areas.
