Commercial real estate brokerage firm CBRE Group Inc. has promoted William “Tripp” Gulliford III to be its executive managing director in Florida.

In that role, he will oversee eight offices statewide – including one in Tampa and Orlando – and agents that generate billions of dollars in transactional volume annually. He will also direct the Los Angeles-based company’s advisory, investment sales, finance, property management, project management and valuation services strategies. He will report to CBRE Group President of Americas Advisory Services Chris Connelly.

“We’re a global company, and as such, we want to provide the same level of services around the world, whether it’s in London or Jacksonville,” says Gulliford. “Each city has its own culture, and that’s what makes them unique and great. We just need to be consistent in offering our services.”

He adds he hopes to build CBRE’s market share in the state by recruiting top talent and allowing internal personnel to grow and possibly through mergers or acquisitions.

Prior to his promotion, Gulliford was senior managing director of CBRE’s North Florida operation, based in Jacksonville, for the past three years. In all, he has more than two decades of commercial real estate and related experience.

Before joining CBRE in 2013, he worked as managing director of EverBank Commercial Advisors, also in Jacksonville. Gulliford was largely responsible for recruiting former CBRE Tampa Market Leader Chase Pattillo to that role, from EverBank. Pattillo now works as a vice president at apartment developer and investor Fore Property Co., in Tampa.

Gulliford also worked at Midland Development Group, where he either developed or redeveloped 20 retail and mixed-use properties, and at shopping center owner Regency Centers prior to joining EverBank. An attorney, he also was Chairman of the Jacksonville Housing Finance Authority from 2012 until recently.
