Spinoff zone: McKibbon Hospitality creates a new company

After 93 years in business, the Tampa-based hotel management firm steps outside its comfort zone.

Tampa-based hotel management firm McKibbon Hospitality has launched a spinoff company, McKibbon Places, that will be headquartered in Atlanta and specialize in third-party hotel development and renovation services.

It’s a big move for the venerable firm, which dates back to 1926. But officials with McKibbon say in a press release that the time was right to become more aggressive outside its traditional comfort zone.
